PHILOSOPHY
Opened in 2007, Ristorante La Barrique Tokyo received this prestigious name from its original “Ristorante La Barrique” in Torino Italy(*),
a long standing Michelin star rated Italian restaurant, where both Shin Sakata (Owner) spent his early days as a trainee
and since thendreamed of opening a sister store in Tokyo.
From the moment you stand in front of the restaurant, you can feel the warm atmosphere from a traditional 70+ year old Japanese house
where Shin spent his childhood days and was renovated to give a unique experience for our guests at Ristorante La Barrique in Tokyo.
*( The Turin store closed in 2014 because its owner chef took over his father’s Enoteca &gastronomia)

Our exclusively selected wines
There are a wide variety of wines in Italy. We carry over 1,000 types of attractive Italian wines, including vintages, that express the unique characteristics of the variety and region. We also have many rare wines that are difficult to find these days, including brands that only we are permitted to carry in Japan, as well as vintage wines from the 60s and 70s.
We also have wines that are not on the wine list waiting in the cellar,
so please let our sommelier know your mood, budget, and preferences that day.
We also have a wide selection of wines by the glass, which changes daily.
You can choose the type of wine you like, or leave it to us.
We can also adjust the amount of wine by the glass, so we can accommodate requests for a variety of wines in small amounts.
We can also arrange the pairings that we confidently recommend in any way.
Depending on the course menu, aged or rare wines may be served by the glass.
Our restaurant staff includes four sommeliers for service, as well as a chef and sous chef who are also sommeliers,
so we place as much importance on wine and service as we do on food.
Please leave it to your sommelier to help you choose the wine that will enhance your important mealtime.
